What we did:
1-1 Consultation, transition to a raw diet, supplements.
From 8weeks Lightning had ongoing itching, diarrhoea and ear infections which were not improving even after 6months of regular vet visits.
The vet visits were expensive and there was no real relief for him! A dog show I attended had lots of advice and raw feeding was promoted, this provoked me to complete an allergy test. There was no real advice from the vet other than medications and potentially looking at changing his diet. The allergy test showed he was allergic to beef salmon duck and chicken, 70% of products I was feeding him had those proteins including treats. Friends and locals all recommend raw feeding as they do it but it wasn’t something I was experienced with and was recommended to see Jacinta to get advice on how to transition and what lightning needed due to all his allergies.
After my consult with Jacinta, I felt confident raw feeding was the right thing for Lightning. I was excited to see what both raw feeding and supplements could do for him and to ensure he is a healthy happy dog, living a long healthy life.
After my first consult we had reguylar catch ups to ensure Lightning's routine suited his requirements and this gave me the confidence to transition to raw food. I stuck to the advice I was given and received ongoing support to adjust what he required til I was happy with his health. I could see a huge difference in his wellbeing.
Lightning had an immediate change to his skin and his stools and hasn’t had an ear infection in over 1 and half years since converting to raw food and the correct diet.
Having a staffy meant him eating occasionally things that he shouldn’t along the way, but Jacinta was always available to give advice and support as situations arrive, including advice on post surgery recovery which had him bouncing back quicker than vet expected.
