Why Dosage Matters

The effectiveness of a supplement isn’t just about what’s in it—it’s about how much of each ingredient is actually doing the work.
Quality Over Quantity
When supplements are formulated with the correct, evidence-based dosages, you can expect real results. That’s because the ingredients have been shown to work at the levels provided—not just sprinkled in for marketing hype.
Cheaper supplements? They’re often packed with fillers and low doses of active ingredients. Or worse, they contain ingredients that do absolutely nothing.
This means:
They barely make an impact.
You’d need to give a ridiculous amount just to see a sliver of benefit.
Supplements with efficacious doses might cost more, but they’re worth it. You get potent, concentrated ingredients that actually support your dog’s health—without needing to shovel in half a tub to see results (hello diarrhoea)...
Maintenance vs. Therapeutic Dosing
Not all doses are created equal. There’s a big difference between maintenance dosing (for ongoing support) and therapeutic dosing (for when the body needs extra help). Some supplements need to be given in higher doses initially to have an effect—especially for dogs with gut issues, inflammation, or allergies.
The Three Keys to Supplements
To get the best results from any supplement, focus on:
Potency – Are the active ingredients in the right dosages?
Bioavailability – Can your dog’s body actually absorb and use them?
Consistency – Are you giving it daily? (Hint: You should be.)
Daily Dosing is Non-Negotiable
Supplements aren’t magic pills—they take time to work. And if you’re dealing with gut issues or allergies, tossing in a sprinkle three times a week won’t cut it. That’s just wasting money.
Take the correct dosage daily before moving on to anything else.
How long do they take to work? It depends:
Probiotics: Days to weeks—fast results.
Compounds like turmeric & quercetin: 4–10 weeks—longer, but worth it.
Factors That Affect Supplement Absorption
Even the best supplements won’t work if your dog’s body isn’t in a state to use them effectively. Things like:
Nutrient deficiencies
Diet & lifestyle
Gut health
Metabolism
These all play a role in how well your dog absorbs and utilizes supplements.
The Bottom Line?
Dose your dog properly.
Choose supplements with potent, bioavailable ingredients that actually do their job.
And for the love of dog, stop wasting money on gut products packed with turmeric and pumpkin powder. They’re doing nothing.
We’re not here for watered-down nonsense. We’re here for real results.
